This is the second fat bike race held at Snowkraft Nordic in Sturgeon Bay. The trail is like a mini Birkie, but combines the wide groomed cross country ski trails with some fresh single track. With over 7 miles per loop, the Koldwave Race has all the elements that one would want from a Fat Bike Race: Fast, Smooth and Technical.
Tom has been putting a huge amount of time into the trials this fall, to get them ready for a great winter riding! Make sure you check out the progress on the link below!
This year we are doing the race a bit different. We will be having three race categories, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Based on the skill level will vary the course layout( in some cases) and length of the race. For this year we also decided to switch things up by having the Advanced riders to race first, then the Intermediate and then Beginner. We think this will appeal more to the racers and make it a better layout for everyone involved.
For course length it will be roughly 21 miles for advanced, 14 miles for Intermediate and 7 miles for Beginner.
