Start of the Race.
Yesterday was the second annual USA Cycling Fat Bike National Championship race in Ogden, Utah. Our Pro rider, Cole House, was able to attend to this event. Before hand we built him up a new Salsa Mukluk frame along with some lighter hoops. We set him up with some HED Big Deal carbon rims laced to Industry Nine Hubs.
Cole keeping this fun out on the course.
The course was set at Powder Mountain again this year and was set up on a 6.2 mile loop. Racers did three laps making the full race just over 18 miles. There were challenging ascends, fun down hills and large berms. The course was both fun and challenging making for a great race.
Cole ended up 6th overall! He came ahead of Trek rider Travis Brown and last years Fat Bike Birkie winner Will Ross who rides for 9 zero 7 bikes (Click here for race results). We are proud of Cole for his great finish yesterday and we are even more excited about the Fat Bike Birkie next weekend in Cable, WI. This will be the fourth annual Fat Bike Birkie race this year and the event coordinators doubled the cap to 1000 people. All 1000 spots have been filled so it should be a great turn out like usual. Cole and a bunch of our riders will be at the race this year. We will have a booth set up at the race as well this year. Come say "Hi" and see one of the new projects we been working on!
